The Blackwelder Family has been in the wood and wood crafts business in the North Carolina since arriving in eastern Mecklenberg County in 1742. Their company was first incorporated in 1936 by Norris M. Blackwelder, their founder (1900-1993) and his father, Neal F. Blackwelder (1865-1948).
